講座內(nèi)容:
    This presentation provides an overview of critical issues in American education with an emphasis on cultivating creativity—both in teachers and in the students they educate. A discussion of “what is creativity," supported with examples of how American schools and teachers cultivate creativity in students, makes up the majority of the presentation. Implications of using a new “creativity” rubric and the study of habits of creative teachers for teacher education and school reform in the U.S. will also be included in the presentation. An integration of these ideas with perspectives on education in China, as reflected in Chinese schools and teacher training programs, will also be covered in the discussion.
